You can detect where you are running with this simple function.

{
	OSVERSIONINFO osv;

	osv.dwOSVersionInfoSize = sizeof(osv);
	GetVersionEx(&osv);
	return(osv.dwPlatformId == VER_PLATFORM_WIN32_NT);
}
