On a side note, which I'm not sure is a bug, feature, new way of doing
things, or a screw-up by microsoft, i've noticed that DIR from within BASH
does not handle files or directories with spaces in them all that well. It
reports one such (for example 'New Folder') to be:

New\ Folder

LS seems to work quite well and handles them just fine, just DIR causes the
strange printing, any ideas?
