I have noticed 2 problems when using bash:

The first problem happens on both beta18 and
beta17.1 versions. When running shell scripts
on my NT 4.0 workstation, intermittently I get
a "Permission denied" message like this:

/usr/bin/grep: Permission denied
/usr/bin/tr: Permission denied

This always happens when muliple pipes are used.
e.g. ps | grep -v grep | grep abc | awk '{print $NF}'

The second problem happens on beta18 only (works
fine on beta17.1). If there are any long if statements
like the following:

if [ $a = $b ]; then
(about 2000 lines of shell stuff here)
fi

Then bash fails with the following error:
fork_helper: child died before initialization with win32 error 128
fork_helper: child died before initialization with win32 error 128
fork: No more processes
