I am using b17.1 under NT 4.0.

1) unpack the python 1.4 sources from www.python.org:
   http://www.python.org/ftp/python/src/python1.4.tar.gz

2) type 'configure';

3) type 'make';

When it reaches the link step, it complains about several undefined
externals.  One of these is cygwin32_getsockopt(), which is
puzzling as it appears that this function is defined in
cygwin.dll.
