After several attempts, traceroute succeeds, but ftp gets connection refused
(Fri Nov 29 00:51:27 UTC 1996, which is Thu Nov 28 16:51 California time).
So this time, there seems no typo. Why don't you use names, BTW?
I also tried the obvious ftp.mbay.net, and got in, but can't find it there.
If you have no write access to a permanently up machine, perhaps you can
ask cygnus for upload permission?
