Maybe somemeone can see something here that I'm missing...

I'm building pgcc-1.1.1 on a Linux 2.1.131/libc5 system. No problems
building or using egcs-1.1.1. After applying the egcs->pgcc patch and
configuring the build tree, a 'make bootstrap' ultimately fails with a
sytax error. A simple 'make' fails with the same syntax error, attached
below. (I don't see anything wrong with the file, though there's a nest of
directives to chase through..) The gcc used in the build below is
egcs-1.1.1 and I'm about to go back and try using gcc-2.7.2.3.

[The egcs-1.1.1-pgcc-1.1.1.diff.gz at goof.com appears to have some *.orig
files included in it but that doesn't seem to be the issue.]

Observations and hints much appreciated...
K.
