 I'm looking at (among others):
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/3163649.pdf
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/83886.pdf

and it strikes me that the pinning or pin configuration is always so
that pin 1 is top left, but when presenting the package outline, pin 1
 is always at bottom left.

Why is that, and what convention is best when doing the footprint ?

I have tried to use top left in footprint, but jedec jep95 standards
 (https://www.jedec.org/category/technology-focus-area/jc-10/registered-outlines-jep95)
MO and MS, seems to always be with pin 1 at bottom left. So should I
change and also use bottom left for pin 1 ?

Regards,
/Karl Hammar
