Glenn,

Maybe not. I see that the next release of Slackware, for instance, may
have at least guile 3.0.4. That is what is in the "current"
(pre-release) as of this moment:

    https://ftp.ussg.indiana.edu/linux/slackware/slackware-current/source/d/guile/

Slackware, for one, appears to be jumping over guile 2.2. I have not
checked other distros to see if they are following this jump to guile 3.x.

So that configure switch may become a 2.2 vs. 3.0 switch in the near
future. I also hear that 3.0.4 is not backward compatible to 2.x. Hence
the major version number bump. It also means I cannot just install the
guile 3.0.4 Slackware package from Slack "current" to solve the gEDA
guile problem.

HTH.

Girvin

      <pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">Seconded.

And I would suggest a configure switch to allow use with guile-2.0 as
well. The changes for 2.2 are minimal at this point. In time as the 2.2
dependency becomes more extensive and 2.0 usage declines the support can
be dropped. I am willing to write the patch if needed.
