Thanks for your reply and the patch link.

Yes, gEDA/gaf 1.10.0 is working fine on my stock Slackware 14.2 system. 
I must ashamedly admit I am concerned about 1.10.1 because of what I 
have _heard_ about the dependency requirements, not that I actually 
tried to build it from source on my Slack machine as-is and it failed. I 
will try to do that build asap and post the results here.
