I have not seen blue arrow heads, but I do see yellow arrow heads (on a 
black background). I just had an observation similar to what you 
describe. I discovered the red box denotes a net with only one node 
(pin) connected (at the other end of the line). The yellow arrows seem 
to appear when the net has more than one node connected. In both cases 
the red box or the yellow arrow appear when that end of the net (line) 
is not connected to a node.
