Hi all,

I know this thread comes up twice a year without anything happening
after it dies off. This time I try to make a difference by actually
implementing at least the pcb-rnd side of the feature, but hopefully the
whole thing.

I have a proposal that requires only minimal changes in gschem, and some
of these changes are not even limited to back annotation. I am not yet
sure about all details of the gschem part tho. Since I am a
scheme-illiterate, I hope someone can help me out on this part, both in
filling in the gaps in the design and implementing the scheme scripts.

The proposal is at:

http://repo.hu/projects/pcb-rnd/devlog/20150830b_back_ann.html

Please note, that:

  - I badly need back annotation, so I am determined to implement it

  - this design proposal is not a final version and may change during the
thread

  - as past threads showed, it is impossible to come up with a solution
that everyone is equally happy with, so that's not the goal; instead, I
want to come up with something that's good enough for me and on top of
that, as good as possible for others within reasonable effort range

  - I am generally interested in ideas, other design approaches, etc,
although I've seen a lot of them already in the past threads about the
topic...

  - ... so ideas/opinion of actual contributors will weight more

Regards,

Igor2
