I expect you'll find that almost all datasheets and spice models don't
come with a license that permits redistribution.  And if you contact
the vendors you'll be met with, at best, blank stares.  You might want
to take a look at spicelib.  It works around the license problem by
downloading models directly from vendors' websites.  Then it patches
them to make them work with gnucap and ngspice (many vendors' models
don't work with all spice implementations, and some don't work with
any).  Spicelib doesn't solve the retention problem, of course; a
vendor can still disappear a model from the internet.  But at least
it's legal.
