 From experience, I would say be careful paralleling power pins for 
currents over the single-pin rating.  I had a project once that used 
four Molex power connectors connected in parallel on a large COTS 
Multibus backplane.  The connectors failed when one pin increased it's 
contact resistance, transferring power to the other pins, which then 
overheated, increasing their resistance.  The connectors failed in a 
cascade failure and burned up.  The root cause in this case was 
dissimilar materials.  Our connectors had gold plated pins and the COTS 
backplane mating connectors had tin plated pins.  We changed our 
connector pins to (ugh) tin plated and these power connector failures 
stopped.  Just a word to the wise.
