Sad to hear that -- gerbv docu says that it supports SVG export, and SVG
is not bitmap by definition.

One strange solution may be: Latest KiCad should have Gerber Import and
SVG Export (someone told me, I have not tested.) Maybe latest gerbview
from KiCad can do it also, I don't know.
