The arrangement used on PC motherboards by Asus, Gigabyte and others
is very common and well supported.
They allow two USB ports from a 2x5 100 mil header with 1 pin missing
for keying.
Just download a Gigabyte motherboard manual to see the pinout.
Suitable cables are readily available on eBay:

There is also a neweer standard for USB 3 over a 20 pin connector, but
I assume you don't neeed USB3.
