I can verify that your patch solves the issue, thanks.
It solves the segfault and corrects the viewing of the image.
Can you propose a suitable commit message?

You can do "git diff src/hid/lesstif/main.c" to get diff for that
file alone, but since we get different line numbers I guess you have
other changes pending also.
