gEDA/gaf works with both Guile 2.0 and Guile 2.2, so this should work. 
Maybe cleaning the Git repository ("git clean -xdf") and re-configuring 
resolves the issue?  (Be careful: this removes any untracked files and 
directories from the repository, including files you saved there.)

If this doesn't help, could you please post the exact error message?
