You can try `lepton-eda' [1], a fork of `geda-gaf'. We have fixed
many issues and made many improvements in the GUI. More info you
can find in NEWS [2] (not completely updated yet). The tools have
been renamed to not conflict with the original project, though
some Scheme modules can still conflict.
