Thank you, this proved to be the second best hit so far, files from the 
mid 90s!

Meanwhile I found the tarball for an even earlier release, v1.3. I may 
even try to compile it today, just for fun.

Thanks everyone who sent me files or links. To further extend the above 
collection, we still need files from:

- before 1995; probably by PCB version 1.2 or earlier
- between 1998 and 2000 (generated with pcb bin version 1.6.3 .. 1.7.0)
- between 2002 and 2005 (generated with pcb bin 1.7.2 .. 2005*)
