SOD323 is about the same size as 0603 and has polarity; in my footprint
collection I have 2 variants, one with smaller pads (downloaded from
somewhere, possibly John Luciani's site)[1] and the one in pcblib-newlib
with larger pads and a slightly larger outline, but the distance between
pads is exactly the same as for 0603

The one with smaller pads makes it easier to route a trace between them,
and might help getting a compact board when designing for automated
assembly, thile the other one should be easier to hand solder.
