It seems when I issue "M-x compile" in emacs it is using TEMP and not TMPDIR for the temporary make output. Is this a feature? I don't know, it was that way since the first day I used the DJGPP version of Emacs. Unfortunately, I can't set TEMP to point to the RAMDRIVE, because then WINDOZE help stops working... What's wrong with TEMP pointing to the disk? It works for me.
