Just tried replace the 8GB(4GBx2) RAM with a single 2GB, seems bash 2.05 still have this problem. Other solution also.
I thinks the problem isn't environment? Or why bash204 don't have problem?
Can you tell me what's your DJGPP 2.04 beta comonent, that don't have the problem? My component list:

By the way, who has managed to compile bash 4.2 and let it run in FreeDOS? I managed to cross compile it under https://github.com/andrewwutw/build-djgpp toolchain, but it always complain no mem to run in FreeDOS.
