When talking about UEFI, how hard would be to modify DJGPP to use UEFI API instead of DOS/BIOS calls? I didn't studied UEFI much but it should provide much more advanced API with drivers for modern HW like USB flash disks, etc. It should native support FAT32 (+LFN?) One day motherboard manufacturers will drop BIOS compatability module and we lost the DOS world. AFAIK UEFI API and UEFI programs runs in PMode, no RealMode switching. I don't know how much DJGPP rely on RM calls, if this could be replaced by UEFI api for console and file IO... Or is there already GCC toolset for UEFI?
