If you have the package file, it's easy:

    bash-2.04$ zippo -qp /develop/dist/fileutils/fil40b-rel5.zip
    fileutils 4.0 release 5 (binaries)

    bash-2.04$ cat /djgpp/manifest/fil40b.ver
    fil40b GNU Fileutils 4.0 for DJGPP 2.x, release 5 (binaries)

Otherwise you'll have to go by file dates.
