??? I assume you left all source, all .o files and all the other crap
(like example source, compiled examples, .o for examples, etc) on your
hd.  I have Allegro installed in my system in less than one mb: the
documentation, the header file, and liballeg.a.  I also had a few of the
utils that I use.  40mb? Ridiculous!
