you either have an installation problem, or using a broken version or
something like that. given:
#include <iostream.h>
int main()
{
cout << 4.5 << endl;
cout << (double) 4 << endl;
return 0;
}
call this td.cc. gxx td.cc -o td.exe produce the excutable td.exe which
when run displays:
D:\djgpp\C> td
4.5
4
so, please make sure you are including iostream.h and that your
installation is not broken. an earlier post of yours suggested you were
using an ancient version of gcc, i would go ahead and upgrade to djgpp
v.2.01. after all, i hope you are on on a 14.4 modem like me at nasa<g>
