DJGPP V2 supports LFNs. In the current beta, the default is on (which causes problems looking for long file names that have been truncated); in the next beta the default will be off. But you can change this on an image by image basis with a environment variable LFN=y or LFN=n. The default is set in DJGPP.ENV > Conversely, would it be difficult to make an application compile as a Win32 > Console App? (so it has access to most of the Win32 library) This would be a huge amount of work for DJGPP, but the NT port of GCC is well along the way to making this capability available, from what I am told.
