Borland's IDE is a 16-bit DPMI program, and it cannot be mixed with a 
32-bit DPMI program (such as GCC) unless you have a DPMI v1.0 server.  
Most servers (including Windows) are 0.9, not 1.0.  That's why your 
machine crashes.
