Subject:	Windows Editors

I am looking for a good freeware/shareware
Windows based editor for source files, so that I
don't have to keep converting between DOS and
UNIX text files. 

Also, has anyone considered making/using a
Windows shell to control compiling options,
and/or controlling make? How about with a built
in text editor so that you could edit, compile, link,
and run without (directly) opening a DOS box?
