The problem with keeping a DOS PC on GMT is that all your non-djgpp programs will report the "wrong" time. Most notably, "dir" will report file times in GMT. To solve this problem, I keep my PC on Eastern time and set TZ=EST0EDT. This seems to keep everything happy - and showing a consistent time. Dave Hayden dave AT echologic DOT com
