   What difference should it make?  A speed increase?  I did get a 22m52s
   configure reduce to 22m13s.  Everything certainly seems to work
   normally.

Yes, a speed increase is what I would expect.  That 3% speed
difference seems within the bounds of statistical error.  It might be
worth keeping track of these times, if you don't already, to make sure
that this is not an aberration.
