Hi Magnus,

I applied your patch but I don't notice for any improvement in performance with 
my test case (I still get only 7 lines/sec).

I tried it with several cygwin 1.7.7-1 revisions
Which version of cygwin sources do you use ?
Did you try it with the latest snapshot ?
