There are a million answers to that question and one can as easily ask "Why have a gui when you can have a command line?" The answer is there a place for both. People coming to install Cygwin often have a need for a good command line, and all that that entails. You could also ask "If you have a GUI why VMWare a Linux box, etc.". You do know that there are things that a command line is better for than a GUI. -- Andrew DeFaria <http://defaria.com> Advice - Do not use a hatchet to remove a fly from your forehead. -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
