Theoretically this should not be too surprising. >=20 > Please don't bother this list with questions about someone else's > distribution. Really. I mean it. Whoa! Careful with that knee-jerk! [*] I thought the point was that the "official" install didn't work, but=20 that the 3rd party packaged version *did* work (presumably because it's=20 using an ancient, line-ending agnostic bash, and has been installed=20 with binary mounts) My advice to the OP would be to reinstall the official release, and=20 this time make sure that "Unix/binary (RECOMMENDED)" is selected in the "Default Text File Type" section in setup.exe. That version you've=20 installed is completely out of date. As soon as you try to update it, you're likely to run into far more problems than if you install a current version and keep it up to date. [*] just to be clear and avoid offense, that's "knee-jerk" as in the=20 reaction, not "knee, jerk" which would have had a completely different=20 meaning ;-) Phil --=20 This email has been scanned by Ascribe Ltd using Microsoft Antigen for Exch= ange. -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
