Phil, Thanks for the prompt reply. cygserver is not running. I shall get the team that did the installation to check. Assuming the Cygwin installation was updated without terminating all Cygwin processes, why does the problem only happens occasionally (once in a few months)? I should imagine the problem would there all the time, immediately after the update. Thanks again.
