Thunderbird does not automatically bzip attachments, and even if it did, it wouldn't have removed the ".srv" from the filename. It does, however, have an option under "View->Display Attachements Inline" that displays plain-text attachments "en clair". What you are doing wrong is looking at your later post: Date: Tue, 05 May 2009 07:22:34 +0100 Message-ID: <49FFDB2A DOT 2060103 AT bonhard DOT uklinux DOT net> http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2009-05/msg00133.html rather than the one CGF's reply: Date: Mon, 4 May 2009 01:04:22 -0400 Message-ID: <20090504050422 DOT GA4733 AT ednor DOT casa DOT cgf DOT cx> In-Reply-To: <49FE746E DOT 2080409 AT bonhard DOT uklinux DOT net> http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2009-05/msg00075.html was actually addressing: Date: Mon, 04 May 2009 05:51:58 +0100 Message-ID: <49FE746E DOT 2080409 AT bonhard DOT uklinux DOT net> http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2009-05/msg00074.html which, seeing as it happened later in time, CGF's post could not reasonably have been expected to be responding to! PROTIP: "View->Sort by->Threaded" will help avoid this problem in future! cheers, DaveK -- [*] - An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition!
