I do not understand this. I thought that when a cygwin application opens a file in text mode, there are two options: 1. The file is "mounted as having CR/LF endings": This results in Cygwin handling CR/LF as line endings 2. The file is "mounted as having LF endings": This results in Cygwin effectively handling LF line endings. (Yes, I know my words are sloppy, but I think you get the idea what I mean).
