What's going on? > Having to chmod copied files to be able to work with them seems odd. Did you notice the '+' at the end of the original permissions? You know what it means? `getfacl Makefile' will show you the additional permissions in the ACL. cp does not copy additional permissions given in an ACL. YOu should fix the permissions of the original file in the first place.
