I just installed google desktop and found that cygserver would no longer
start. This is apparently a problem with recent versions of google
desktop, and it applies to other cygwin services besides cygserver:

The suggested workaround is to downgrade to an older version of google
desktop. Has anyone found a better solution?

Ken
