IIRC Cygwin *is* currently using windows shortcuts for symbolic links. Some simple checks confirm this. The shortcut files are sometimes fully formed such that they are editable by right clicking on them, others are only partially formed. Windows will resolve them, however symbolic links to executables using implicit '.exe' or symbolic links to symbolic links does not work correctly. Those are *not* things that can be fixed because for example the link may have originally pointed to file, which was later replaced by another link. Cygwin should not scan the drive for all links and update them, for that would be absurd. Besides those two cases, the links work just fine as windows shortcuts. -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
