Cygwin md5sum puts a space then an asterisk in front of filenames, Linux version puts two spaces. E.g.: Linux$ echo | md5sum 68b329da9893e34099c7d8ad5cb9c940 - Cywgin$ echo | md5sum 68b329da9893e34099c7d8ad5cb9c940 *- I see "md5sum -c" accepts either two spaces or space plus asterisk. Why the difference in output formats? Does it matter? luke -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
