Your bug report is short and precise, and will be appreciated. Just FYI, this seems to be a problem with the .stabs entry for the register variable "a". > gcc 3.2 on [intel] linux works ok. That's because the bug is (likely) related to generating COFF stabs (Linux uses the ELF file format, and the DWARF debugging information format, which may explain why it's not affected).
