Sorry. Better said as 2GB files. If this caused any confusion for you, check the email archives for the definitive answer! ;-) Larry Original Message: ----------------- From: lhall AT pop DOT ma DOT ultranet DOT com lhall AT pop DOT ma DOT ultranet DOT com Date: Mon, 27 Jan 2003 12:15:35 -0500 To: heitzso AT bellsouth DOT net, cygwin AT cygwin DOT com Subject: RE: noting problems with VERY large files w/ some utilities This is a good question for the email archives. It's been asked and answered more than once. Cygwin curently supports only 32 bit word sizes. The tools will have trouble with file sizes larger than 4GB. BTW, I greatly appreciate CYGWIN. -- Heitzso <heitzso AT bellsouth DOT net> MetaMedia, Inc. -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
