Subject: sshd - illegal user, /bin/bash not executable?
To: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com
MIME-Version: 1.0

I've installed the latest sshd under 2000 server SP2
and I can't get any userId's to authenticate. sshd is
installed as a service
When I run the service with '-d' instead of '-D' to
enable debugging to the logfile I see the following
error.

"user fztm49 is not allowed because shell /bin/bash is
not executable"

I've given the system user list access to all
directories on the C drive and given it read/write to
d:/cygwin. This doesn't seem to have made any
difference. I've searched google and the cygwin
mailing list archives but can't find any hints here.

This also shows up in the security log of the server.
Any ideas? I've got sshd running on 3 other boxes no
problem, just no 2000 Sp2 servers thats all.

Thanks,
PJ
