Thanks for the replies, I got the picture. I have managed to stay of other compilers than Visual Age, but that's over now on Intel platforms! And I really want to stay off of Visual C++, so cygwin or mingw seemed good alternatives. I'll take a closer look at mingw also. Thanks again, Dan ----------------------------- Dan K.
