I did a little research, and Unix #! handling is all over the spectrum, so any Unix portability argument goes out the window. Other than tricks involving /bin/sh, the best you can hope for is "#!/usr/bin/env PROG". It would be a worthwhile exercise to see if enabling full argument parsing breaks anything (i.e., find out if this is a win-win feature), although this is hardly likely to be on anyone's priority list soon. -Jerry -O Gerald S.
