Subject: Help: link errors w/gcc, opengl, glut
Mime-Version: 1.0

From: Ken Sheldon AT CONTEXT on 11/27/2000 06:40 AM

I am attempting to compile a trivial GLUT program using gcc in cygwin.
(the program is so small and trivial I have included it at the end of this
message)

I am unable to get the program to link.
gcc    -c -o gldemo.o gldemo.cc
gcc -o gldemo.exe -lglut32 -lglu32 -lopengl32 gldemo.o
gldemo.o(.text+0x2f):gldemo.cc: undefined reference to `glutInit AT 8'
gldemo.o(.text+0x3c):gldemo.cc: undefined reference to
`glutInitDisplayMode AT 4'

there are similar errors for glut function call.

I appreciate any insight into my omission.

8-line gldemo.cc follows:

#include <gl/glut.h>
void main(int argc, char **argv) {
        glutInit(&argc, argv);
        glutInitDisplayMode(GLUT_DEPTH | GLUT_SINGLE | GLUT_RGBA);
        glutInitWindowPosition(100,100);
        glutInitWindowSize(320,320);
        glutCreateWindow("3D Tech- GLUT Tutorial");
}
