Mark,

Screaming in your email will not help (that's what ALL CAPS means).  In
fact, screaming is more likely to get your messages dumped into the
Trashcan; and possibly kill-file all your future messages.  Remember,
everybody here is a volunteer.  No one *has* to help you.

You could also search on 'CR/LF' or 'CRLF' or 'text binary' or 'line
endings' -- those all give lots of hits in the archives.  I can't give
any *specific* help; I've never built or used rsync.

(tip #1: never use WinZip to unpack source code.)
