Some time ago Chris wrote to me requesting a FAQ entry: On Saturday 2 Sep 00, Chris Faylor writes: > FAQ alert. > > We need something that discusses why "chmod doesn't work" along with > some discussion of ntsec and ntea. Along with this "answer": > ntsec will allow UNIX perms on Windows NT on NTFS file systems. > > ntea works on NTFS and FAT but it creates a huge (undeletable) file on > FAT filesystems. > > There is no solution at all for Windows 9x. Is this enough? Does this answer the question completely? If not, could someone contribute a more thorough explanation? I don't use ntsec myself, so I don't know what the issues or limitations are. Thanks for your help. Cheers, David -- Want to unsubscribe from this list? Send a message to cygwin-unsubscribe AT sourceware DOT cygnus DOT com
