Subject: Re: mount problems (STILL)
Mime-Version: 1.0

OK, here's how I fixed it (but I'm not sure if it'll happen again).

0. I wiped out my CYGWIN environment variable.
1. I wiped out my mount points directly from the registry. I noticed they were
very screwy (ie "/" was there but wasn't assigned to anything).
2. I manually changed the "/" mount to "C:\cygwin" from within the registry.
3. I was able to go to a DOS prompt and do mounts the way I expect to be able to
(ie "mount H: /home/nyap").

After performing the steps outlined below, I noticed that the new mount wasn't
listed in the registry. After exiting all Cygwin applications, ALL MY MOUNTS
DISAPPEARED AGAIN!!!

AND I STILL CAN'T MOUNT ANYTHING.

OK. It seems that I can get "mount" to work if I:
0. use "mount" from a DOS prompt.
1. go to the directory where the mount point physically exists (ie C:).
2. do "mount -b X: \vobs"

Anything else gives me "mount failed: Invalid argument".

Once I do the above, I can't "umount" the directory.

I'm thinking maybe my CYGWIN (="binmode export ntea") setting might affect mount
somehow???

Is anyone else having problems with this?

Thanks,
Noel
